Sporting a high-style designer interior with a huge cockpit and a fully enclosed bridge, the sleek Cheoy Lee 70 SF remains one of the more aggressively styled big sportfishing yachts in the late-model marketplace. (Note the rakish flybridge overhang around the front windows—very distinctive indeed.) Built on a so-called “double-V” bottom (super wide chine flats extend out from a deeper V on the centerline) and fully cored from the keel up, the ride is said to be soft and dry in a variety of sea conditions. Inside, the four-stateroom layout is plush in the extreme. The raised galley forward in the salon allows room for a huge master stateroom below, and each guest stateroom has its own private head. With more than 20 feet of beam, it’s hardly a surprise to note that the overall accommodations of the Cheoy Lee 70 rival those of a good-sized motor yacht. The cockpit is fitted with in-deck fish boxes, a livewell, and direct access to the engine room. Topside, the enclosed bridge offers typical Skylounge amenities including air conditioning, settee, and wet bar. Ahead of her time when she was introduced in 1992, Cat 1,350hp 3412 diesels deliver a cruising speed of 20–22 knots (high 20s top).
