The Carver 506 Motor Yacht is in a class of its own when it comes to styling—her huge profile always turns heads but not always in admiration. That said, the 506 was a very successful model for Carver thanks to an enormous condo-like interior. Carver made full use of the boat’s 15'4"" beam by pushing out the salon nearly to the hullsides. The side decks are still there, but they are raised well above the hull's sheerline. With the split-level layout of the 506 it's only a few steps down from the aft deck to the salon. Tiered windows provide panoramic views so whether you're seated or standing, you can see outside. Forward of the salon/galley/dining area are two staterooms, each with its own head. Aft, the master stateroom features a split head arrangement, vanity and washer/dryer closet. The aft deck is fully enclosed and air-conditioned and flows seamlessly into the enclosed bridge with its retractable sunroof. With three staterooms and three full heads, the layout of the 506 offers the accommodations of many 60-foot yachts. Notably, the cherry joinery and detailing are a match for more expensive cruisers. Cummins 450hp diesels cruise the Carver 506 at 16–18 knots.
