In addition to her bold styling and upscale accommodations, the Carver 42 Super Sport (called the 43 Super Sport in 2008–9) was among the first Carver yachts offered with IPS pod drives. Her full-beam interior is made possible by raising the side decks to near-flybridge level, a design feature borrowed from Silverton’s popular “SideWalk” deck layouts introduced a few years earlier. The result is an interior whose dimensions are among the largest in her class. The combined salon/galley/dinette of the Super Sport, with its cherry joinery and Ultraleather seating, offers room for nonstop entertaining. (The original circular dining table was replaced in 2007 with a more practical L-shaped design.) Both staterooms have walkaround berths, and the master stateroom head has a stall shower. A utility room beneath galley sole provides pantry storage or space for a washer/dryer. Topside, the flybridge features seating for eight adults including a wet bar and dining table. The cockpit, shaded by a bridge overhang, includes a transom shower, storage lockers, and transom door. A hydraulic swim platform was optional. Volvo 370hp IPS diesels with joystick controls cruise at 22–24 knots (mid 20s top).
