Introduced in 1987, the Carver 3257 Montego is a mid-tier family express designed for cruising, diving and entertaining. For a 32-foot boat, the Montego is big inside thanks to a wide 12-foot beam and high forward freeboard. While the styling is dated by current standards, this affordable sportcruiser from Carver Yachts remained popular for years after production ended in 1990. Her midcabin interior sleeps six and features a private master stateroom with offset double berth and hanging locker forward, dual access head with separate stall shower, convertible booth dinette, and a large full-service galley with an under-counter refrigerator and plenty of storage. The midcabin provides an additional double berth, and the dinette converts to a third double berth when needed. Topside, the Montego sports a roomy bi-level helm and aft cockpit area that features an L-shaped companion seat and numerous storage compartments. A transom walk-through provides access to an extended swim platform with boarding ladder and shower. No lightweight, standard 270hp gas engines (with V-drives) cruise the 3257 Montego at 14–16 knots. Optional 350hp Crusaders cruise at 20–22 knots (high 20s top).
