Introduced in 1991 as the Carver 28 Aft Cabin, this boat went through several name changes in subsequent years. From 199394 she was called the 300 Aft Cabin. In 1995when an integral swim platform was added to the hullshe became the 325 Aft Cabin; and finally, in 1999 she became the 326 Aft Cabin. For many, its difficult to see the appeal of such a small double-cabin design. Theres no way to avoid a cramped interior, and the top-heavy profile of any small flybridge boat is bound to be ungainly. That said, the 325/326 Aft Cabin was built on a very beamy hull to get as much interior volume below as possible. A lower helm is standard, and wraparound cabin windows make the salon seem larger than it actually is. Lacking its own head, the aft cabin is thoughtfully fitted with a sink and vanity. (Note that the double berth in the aft cabin extends slightly below the salon sole.) Outside, the small aft deck barely has enough room for a couple of deck chairs, and theres seating for three on the small flybridge. Upgrades in 1997 included an aft deck hardtop and a radar arch. Standard 300hp gas engines cruise at 1617 knots (mid 20s top).
