Entry-level buyers looking for a roomy family cruiser with the amenities of a small apartment found much to like in the 310 Santego. Carver sold a lot of these boats—the “express bridge” layout with its step-down interior and elevated helm offered the advantages of a flybridge boat in a more stylish, low-profile design. Introduced in 1994, the Santego was built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam, shallow keel, and an integrated swim platform. A sliding glass door leads from the cockpit into the Santego’s single-level interior where a U-shaped dinette is to starboard, across from a settee that converts to upper/lower bunks with privacy curtain. Moving forward, the galley with microwave is to port and the head/shower is to starboard. An offset double berth is all the way forward with hanging locker and privacy curtain. A molded fiberglass staircase on the port side of the cockpit provides easy access to the bridge with seating for five adults. An aft bench seat and transom door are standard in the cockpit. Bow access is via a cutout in the forward bridge coaming. Fuel capacity was increased in 1997. Crusader 270hp sterndrive engines cruise at 20–22 knots. Crusader 250hp V-drive inboards cruise at 18 knots.
