The Beneteau Swift Trawler 50 is a sleek Eurostyle coastal cruising yacht whose distinctive lines offer something different in contemporary trawler design. Available with either three cabins or two double cabins plus an office with an extra berth, wide doors open into a compact salon with panoramic views in every direction. The starboard-side C-shaped lounge is a great place to hang out while enjoying the entertainment center housed in the storage lockers to port. Below, the full-beam master stateroom is accented with warm mahogany paneling and two large portlights. Of particular note is the huge, rounded windshield that surrounds the wheelhouse providing an unobstructed view of the water. Designed for IPS pod drives, at just over 35,000 pounds the Swift Trawler 50 is lighter and more agile than most 40-footers. The boat’s asymmetrical deck plan maximizes salon space and the aft deck/cockpit is sheltered by a flybridge extension. High bulwarks surrounding the deck provide safe and easy movement fore and aft while a pilothouse side door makes docking easy. Built on a semi-displacement hull with a deep forefoot and long keel, 435hp Volvo IPS 600 diesels cruise at 16-18 knots (mid 20s top).
