A popular model, the Back Cove 37 is an economical, low-maintenance cruising yacht styled in the classic Downeast tradition. Most cruisers this size are powered with twin engines but the 37 has a single diesel/bow thruster combination that delivers serious fuel efficiency and very impressive performance. The beautifully appointed galley-up layout is ideal for two couples. Opposite the galley are two helm seats and aft of the helm is an L-shaped settee with adjustable table and a shorter settee opposite to port. The 37’s enclosed salon is surrounded by large windows and an overhead hatch provides ventilation. Folding doors completely open up the salon to the cockpit with its built-in seating and centerline transom door. An island queen bed in found in the forward stateroom and a double berth in the (small) guest stateroom. Wide side decks make getting around easy and secure. As it is with all Back Cove models, fit and finish is excellent inside and out. Built on a cored hull with moderate beam, a single 480hp Cummins engine delivers a top speed of 24–26 knots. A 600hp Cummins 8.3 diesel can reach a top speed of nearly 30 knots.
