Introduced in 2006 to enthusiastic industry reviews, the Azimut 62S is a world-class sportyacht whose sleek Italian styling is matched by her lavish accommodations. She may not be the largest yacht in the marina, but few can match her for flat-out sex appeal. Built on a deep-V hull with distinctive square-shaped portholes and tiered side windows, the main deck layout includes a big salon with a power sunroof above. Offered with two or three staterooms, the two-stateroom floorplan replaces the second guest cabin with a versatile lower salon/lounge with self-contained galley. Both layouts feature a truly opulent amidships owner’s suite with six hull windows on either side. Note that the island berth in the forward VIP cabin splits apart into V-berths—an innovative touch indeed. There’s also a small crew cabin aft, next to the transom garage. Sliding glass doors open from the salon to the aft deck with its centerline sun pad, wet bar and grill. The garage can stow an inflatable or RIB. Finally, there’s a cut out in the forward sun pad for your wine and champagne. A good open-water performer, Cat 1,015hp C-18 V-drive diesels cruise at 28 knots (low 30s top).
