A popular model, the Azimut 54 Flybridge (called the 53 Flybridge in 2010–12) combines the sleek Mediterranean styling and workmanlike finish one expects in an Azimut yacht. Named “Boat of the Year” in 2011 by the prestigious U.K. magazine Motor Boating and Yachting, the roomy interior and stylish profile of the Azimut 53/54 turn heads wherever she goes. Stepping inside, the expansive salon is flooded with natural lighting through large cabin windows. A U-shaped leather sofa is to port, and a long cabinet to starboard houses a retractable flat-screen TV and storage drawers. The galley and dinette are forward, two steps up from the salon level. A clever seatback system slides between the dinette and helm to create a two-person driver’s seat. The full-service galley (with security handrail) has a beech chopping block.
