Sales Professional in Dania Beach, FL
Jim Henson has owned big boats his entire adult life. In 1979 in Port Isabel, Texas, he bought his first boat, a 1969 35’ Chris-Craft Tournament Sportfish. He’s owned three Chris-Crafts to 50’, four Hatteras yachts to 58’, and an assortment of others throughout the Gulf Coast, Northwest, and Florida.
In 1989, Jim opened “Yacht Doc” of Kirkland, Washington and he’s been a yacht broker ever since. Licensed and bonded in Florida, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge to HMY Yachts, leading the way in finding his clients the powerboat of their dreams. He jokes that the reason he knows so much about power boats is because he could never afford a mechanic since he spent all his money on the boats themselves.
Jim also holds a USCG 100-ton master license. He’s cruised the waters of the West Coast, from Ketchikan, Alaska to Cabo San Lucas and the Sea of Cortez; the East Coast, from Kittery, Maine to Trinidad; the Gulf Coast as a competitive sport fisher, from the Florida Keys to Brownsville, Texas; and he even took a 60’ Viking up the waterways of the Mississippi River to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jim spent the summer of 2014 cruising the Great Lakes as captain of “Independence,” a 70’ Burger Yacht that he later sold to a friend.
