Next up in the series of yachting events that make up the industry’s favorite time of year - boat show season - is the 30th Annual Miami Yacht Show which runs along Collins Avenue nearby famed hotels such as the Fountainebleau and Eden Roc. If you plan to attend the in-water extravaganza this February 15 - 20, you’ll find that the show has added a few upgrades to enhance your enjoyment. The Miami Yacht Show VIP Experience includes new showcases of fine jewelry and watches. You will also receive access to a nearby event where some of these luxury goods are appearing for the first time. Add in concierge services and other exclusivities, and you’ll be sure to have an even better time than prior years.
Previously known as Yachts Miami Beach and prior to that the Yacht & Brokerage Show, the Miaimi Yacht Show stretches along a mile of the Miami's waterfront including more than 500 yachts and megayachts in the water across 12 million square feet of space. In addition, more megayachts will be docked at Island Gardens Deep Harbor. Accessible via special arrangement by your broker or via taxi, the marina should have about a dozen or more yachts too large for the Indian Creek Waterway at Collins Avenue. The show’s new name aims to convey the event’s international appeal as well as reflect the changes and improvements visitors will find at the 2018 edition. In addition to an improved VIP experience, the show is expected to have a new look and layout, and further enhancements to the floating dock entrances will be made.
As for the Miami Yacht Show VIP Experience, $150 gets you entrance to the docks and access to the private waterfront lounge. Food and an open bar, along with climate-controlled seating areas, are at your disposal. Delmay & Partners, a local travel agent, is on site as well, arranging all concierge services, such as yacht tours.
The other special part of the VIP Experience, the watch and jewelry showcase, is new. It’s in conjunction with Watches & Wonders Miami, an event taking place simultaneously in the Miami Design District. Shuttles can take you over there to see coveted classic cars from Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, and more. At Watches & Wonders Miami, you’ll also see jewelry and watches, some only just recently revealed at a trade show in Geneva, Switzerland. Some of the same brands will have pieces on hand at the Miami Yacht Show VIP Experience lounge, however.
The Miami Yacht Show website is still being updated at this time with limited additional information is therefore available there about the VIP Experience. However, registration should be accessible after the new year.
It is important to mention that the Miami Yacht Show is not the same even as the Miami International Boat Show. The latter takes place at Miami Marine Stadium on Virginia Key and it does not include any mega yacht displays.
In addition to these upgrades, much excitment at the show will be centered around several yacht premiers. Here you can expect to see the latest and greatest models from Princess Yachts, Viking Yachts and Cruisers Yachts.
