The Viking Yachts 92 – Exterior Overview

By HMY   April 16, 2019

The Viking Yachts 92' thrives as both a magnificent cruising yacht and blue-water sportfishing convertible, seamlessly combining the expected luxurious accommodations of a premier motor yacht with the guile and hardcore fishing set-up of their best battlewagons.

Viking describes their latest marvel of innovation as, simply, awesome.

The 92 is available in three different configurations; open bridge convertible, enclosed bridge and skybridge.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

The Viking Yachts 92’ is a tall, sophisticated, stately beauty whose imposing stature is enhanced by the beautiful and functional [optional] sky bridge and the brilliant two-level mezzanine. Should you choose the convertible model, you'll be offered a spacious, well-equipped open flybridge.

Viking’s signature sleek sportfishing hull is even more pronounced with her generous 24-foot beam, striking a powerful and commanding presence cutting through the channel and heading out to sea.

BRIDGE OPTIONS

Yes, the sky bridge model is visually striking, but it’s also amazingly functional, combining all the visibility benefits of an elevated control station with the weather protection and comfort of a Viking enclosed bridge. Tuna towers can top off any model and are designed and fabricated by Palm Beach Towers, another Viking subsidiary.

The sky bridge command station shares many of the design traits of Viking’s open flybridge convertibles, such as the walk-around center console with raised teak helm pod and recessed and protected areas for multi-function displays, engine and steering controls, and electronics controllers.

As on the enclosed bridge, the custom communication, navigation, and entertainment electronic package are designed and installed by Viking sister company, Atlantic Marine Electronics.

With the console's molded-in step, the captain's sightlines are enhanced further. The hardtop holds an electric teaser reel and power-actuated drop-down electronics box.

Guests can relax in a pair of finely upholstered console seats or outboard lounges (with forward-facing backrests). For balance and safety, toe-kick space is built into the console perimeter and at the lounge bases. A refrigerated drink box and sink is conveniently located on centerline, between the lounges.

COCKPIT | DECKS

The Viking 92’s sportfishing readiness is most apparent in the 238-square-foot tournament-ready cockpit with fighting chair. She’s more than equipped to fish, with ample in-floor port and starboard stowage compartments that serve as tackle and gear wells and molded transom fish-boxes on either side of the fighting chair (which can also double as convenient stowage bins for masks, fins, and other gear).

What you can’t see may have the biggest impact on your day on the water. A Seakeeper stabilizer lies just under the cockpit flooring.

In addition to the spacious cockpit, another star of the 92 is the two-level mezzanine, featuring open-floor seating behind the cockpit (where you’ll also find the engine room access door) and rear-facing lounge seating just above on the main level aft deck. This seating is flanked by additional storage cabinets with multiple pull out drawers.

Port and starboard staircases provide easy access to the main aft deck above. Here, the outside galley and grilling area provides for alfresco drinks and dining at a cozy, comfortable table.

Up on the bridge aft deck of the Enclosed or Skybridge models, there’s L-shaped lounge seating to take in all the action, along with another helm station for ease of operation while fighting a fish or for docking.
