HMY Yacht Sales 2018: A Year In Review

Each year cruises by quickly for us as we truly enjoy helping each and every client achieve their goals of spending more time on the water, on the yacht of their dreams. As we look back on 2018, HMY would like to extend a sincere thank you to our clients for making another amazing year possible.
The brokerage success combined with strong sales on new Viking Yachts, Princess Yachts, and OKEAN Yachts, helped HMY end 2018 on a high note with over 400 sales for over $500 million.

As one of the leading Viking Yachts dealers in the country, HMY sold over 100 new and used Vikings in 2018. Additionally, our firm sold 24 motor yachts over 80’, further solidifying a banner year.
HMY Expands Charter Division
In 2018, HMY set out to expand our charter division and we succeeded when we brought industry leader Bob Saxon aboard as our new as VP of HMY’s Yacht Management, Crew Placement, and Yacht Charter Division. Bob’s expertise in the yacht charter industry is unparalleled. He has over 40 years of experience and has served as Executive Director of the Florida Yacht Brokers Association and President of the International Yacht Brokers Association. He has been the dominant force in the yacht charter arena, and we are thrilled to have him aboard.

Remembering 2018 Events
When reflecting on the many highlights of the past year, we would like to take the time to mention some of the memorable 2018 events that HMY was fortunate enough to be involved in. The HMY team is filled with experienced anglers that have chased big-game fish all over the world, so being a sponsor in many of the local fishing tournaments fits perfectly within our company culture. Whether it's the Viking Yachts Key West Challenge, Mike Schmidt Winner's Circle Invitational, Skip Smith's tournament series, Emeril Lagasse Line Vine & Dine tournament or the South Carolina Governor’s Cup, HMY is always honored to sponsor these incredible events in the name of charity. But that doesn't mean we don’t also have our share of fun! Some of the best memories from this year include our sold-out 4th Annual HMY Bimini Rendezvous where dozens of our clients and their families joined us for a 4-day adventure in paradise. Of course, we can’t adequately review 2018 without mentioning the Superbowl of the yachting industry, the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This year the show was one of the busiest in recent memory with a record number of attendees and strong sales both in new and brokerage yachts. HMY was one of the largest exhibitors with over 60 new and brokerage yachts on display.
In case you missed it, we generated a lot of buzz during the show and throughout the industry with our world debut of the OKEAN Yachts 55’ Sport.
