Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2013

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2013

By HMY   October 1, 2013

Are you ready for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show? It’s only a couple of weeks away! FLIBS, as those in the industry call it, kicks off Thursday, October 31 and concludes the following Monday, November 4th. If it’s your first time at FLIBS or you’re a seasoned vet, there’s a lot to know going into this years event! Our team of talented researchers and writers (me) have found some valuable pieces of information for you. Quick overview for the first timers: the show is spread out over six locations: Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale Hilton and The Sails Marina- open between 10am and 7pm everyday except Sunday, 10am-5pm. First things first- do you know where HMY Yachts will be? We will have over 80+ boats at 9 different locations with over 50+ sales professionals to answer all your questions. Our displays include: 80-110’ Motor Yachts/Cruiser, Brokerage Motor Yachts/Cruisers, Brokerage Sportfish, Large Motor Yachts, used and new Viking Yachts, Princess Yachts, Tiara Yachts, Grand Banks, VanDutch Yachts, and lastly, Horizon Yachts. A complete list of locations and yachts on display can be found on HMY's Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Guide. Thursday is “primetime preview” day where you can purchase a ticket online for $36 ($38 on site)- this means that the general admission tickets available beginning Friday for $20 ($22 on site) are not available for the “primetime preview” –this just means there will be less people at the event Thursday. Tickets bought in advance are encouraged- they are $2 cheaper and less of a hassle. Cash is only accepted at the box offices at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Las Olas Marina, Las Olas Riverfront, Broward Country Convention Center. Tickets will not be available at the Hall of Fame Marina, The Sails and the Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina. This is a great time to set up private viewings with brokers. Brokers are here to assist you with your questions, but with so many people at the event it's easy to get lost in a crowd- so beat the crowd by setting up a private viewing with a broker. If you do not have a contact, please feel free to contact us now and set up a viewing. The options for parking vary greatly- valet parking is available, parking at the show locations is available (although that fills up quickly), a FREE riverboat is available from the Las Olas Riverfront, as well as Water taxis which run $10 for a one-day pass; lastly the Park N Ride option out of the War Memorial. Enjoy the show and see you there!
