The galley is a chef’s delight with its durable Amtico flooring, under mounted stainless-steel sink and luxurious granite countertops. Appliances include Sub-Zero undercounter refrigeration, a trash compactor, a surface-mounted electric cooktop, oven and microwave. Substantial stowage is provided throughout the galley behind varnished teak cabinets with large, easy-sliding pullout drawers. Additionally, stowage compartments are located in the day head, which is adjacent to the galley companionway. For convenience, there are two distinct dining areas with a dinette to starboard, and bar stools to port.
Available with four or five staterooms, as well as a choice of an open or climate-controlled enclosed bridge layouts with an available inside spiral staircase to the wheelhouse, the 74 Convertible favors maximum privacy and comfort whether campaigning on the tournament trail or cruising secluded islands in the Bahamas. The master suite is amidships and offers a king-size walkaround bed with an upholstered headboard and cedar-lined stowage below. The bed is flanked with varnished teak end tables and to starboard is an L-shaped lounge with a stowage compartment underneath. Twin cedar-lined, mirror-fronted hanging lockers, a teak credenza, a vanity desk and a built-in entertainment system, which includes a flat screen television and stereo/CD player, create a most inviting retreat. A variety of layouts allow maximum flexibility.
First and foremost a tournament fishing machine, the cockpit has been designed to accommodate serious blue-water anglers. The 218 square foot cockpit is outfitted with a transom door and walk-through gate, recessed in-deck fish box and available livewell and ice box. An observation mezzanine with port and starboard aft facing lounges also houses the tackle cabinets, a bait freezer and general stowage for bulky gear. All hatches feature gas struts for easy lifting and positive action and a refrigerated chill box is in the mezzanine step. For added versatility, port and starboard Glendinning Cablemasters are included.
An exhaustive standard equipment list includes chilled-water air conditioning, an Atlas power system, Headhunter heads, two 27.5 kW gensets, and spacious crew quarters with private access, Murray Products helm and companion seats on the flying bridge, recessed electronic stowage, power-assisted hydraulic steering and electronic trolling valves. with propeller pockets reducing its project draft to 5’7” and a 2,517 gallon fuel capacity, (3,117 gallons available as an option), the Viking 74 Convertible will surpass the best in class by creating an entirely new breed of luxury convertible.
