The 50th Annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show gets underway, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Bahia Mar Marina for a five-day run. One of the boat show’s more popular attractions is the Viking Yacht display on D-dock #432. This year’s event is highlighted by the introduction of three exciting new Viking models.
The new Viking 76 Convertible features an open bridge configuration, a 206 square-foot cockpit with an observation mezzanine and a five-stateroom, four-head layout, which features a full-beam master stateroom. Powered with a pair of 2,400 mhp MTU Series 2000 V16 engines, the 76 Convertible can easily cruise in the mid-30 knot range with top speeds approaching 40 knots.
Also making its world premiere at this edition of the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show is Viking’s flagship 82 Enclosed Bridge Convertible. This spectacular convertible, the largest yacht the company has produced in its 45-year history easily surpasses custom motor yachts with its luxurious accommodations, including a full-beam master suite, yet the 255 square-foot two-level cockpit is designed for tournament fishing.
The Viking 46 Open is a spirited express that is ideal for blue-water fishing and cruising. Overnight accommodations in its two-stateroom layout provide plenty of privacy and comfort, and the galley and salon are spacious and abound with hand finished teak joinery. Power-assisted hydraulic steering and twin 1,100 mph MAN common rail diesels provide sports car handling and performance.

These three world premieres will join 10 other Vikings in the 13-boat display which ranges from 46 to 82 feet. Also on hand in the Viking display will be sister companies Palm Beach Towers and Atlantic Marine Electronics.
The show runs through November 2, 2009. We look forward to seeing you there.
