Steve entered the marine industry during the Miami Boat show in 1975. While computers were not as commonplace as they are today, Steve took a leap and joined forces with an entrepreneur who envisioned a computerized listing system for the marine industry. A few years later, Steve switched his focus and became a full-fledged yacht broker. In 1979 he formed HMY Yacht Sales.

Tom brings over 20 years of management experience in the marine industry to HMY, including former affiliations with brokerage organizations as well as Bertram and Hatteras Yachts. He is originally from New England but moved progressively southward until landing in Florida during the early 90’s. Tom has attended many fishing tournaments and yachting rendezvous up and down the Coast, including the Bahamas and the Gulf Coast. He is an avid fisherman and enjoys spending time with his family in the Bahamas.

Laura relocated to South Florida from the Midwest in 1979 and found herself immediately drawn into the yachting community. She has been in the yachting industry for 30 years – the last 8 with HMY. The knowledge and experience gained over the years make Laura an asset as the company’s Office Manager.

John moved from Long Island N.Y. to Broward County in the late 70s, His marine experience was enhanced by joining the Broward County Sheriff’s Office specializing as a Marine Deputy Sheriff. After early retirement, he joined the Allied Marine Group as a yacht broker selling Hatteras and Tiara Yachts. He was then recruited by Sunseeker as Vice President heading up a new International Brokerage company for the U.S. where he spent 10 years. Looking for a change, HMY was the perfect fit where he now manages the Dania and Miami office sales teams. John is an avid boater and enjoys spending time on the water with his family.

Larry’s association with the marine industry made him a perfect choice for Chief Financial Officer. In 1997, he left Bertram Manufacturing and turned to HMY. Larry hails from Pennsylvania but has been in South Florida since 1964. He has been married nearly twenty years and has one son and one daughter.

Mike joined HMY as New Yachts, Product Manager after a 30-year career in the South Florida marine industry. He moved from southern New Jersey to Broward County after graduating from Western Maryland College. He has worked in boat sales and sales management prior to acquiring experience in a broad spectrum of marine business activity. He has belonged to many marine industry organizations, received the Boatee Award for service on the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show committee, and was an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Marine Industry Association of South Florida.
Mike also holds his United States Coast Guard Captain’s License. Continuing his industry education, Mike recently completed the Viking Master’s Program, Volvo Penta’s IPS Certification, and received the Certificate of Outstanding Performance from Tiara University.
In 1983, Mike earned national recognition when, as a Director of the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo, he led the development of the artificial reef-building project that became the most highly publicized program in Florida marine conservation history.

Julio recently joined HMY after a 30 year career in sales and marketing in the publishing industry. During that time he was involved with the development and implementation of local, regional and national print and electronic marketing, trade shows and the development of successful sales strategies in a highly competitive environment.
He has owned his own photography business for over 20 years, is an HMY customer and brings to HMY a solid background in design and traditional marketing strategies.

Jeff started with HMY as the company’s first captain in 1988 which allowed him to develop a special insight into the building, maintenance and service of yachts. Recently Jeff had the pleasure of working with one of his customer’s on an 83’ custom sport fishing vessel that took about 18 months to build. This vessel was featured on the cover of Southern Boating magazine, August 2009.
Jeff’s involvement in worldwide fishing tournaments provides hands on knowledge and experience when a fellow angler/boater is searching for the perfect fishing vessel. Not limited to sport fishing vessels, he has sold Viking Sport Cruisers and large motor yachts. He is sensitive to each client’s individual needs and puts forth 110% effort.

Gary has spent 4 of his 10 years in the marine industry at HMY.
He has completed the Viking Masters Program, Riviera Yachts Product Training and is certified in both Albemarle and Mainship Yachts. He is an experienced boater with 40 years of experience, and has been a committee member of the Latin Builders Association Fishing Tournament. He has participated in and fished the Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament, the Riviera and Tiara Yachts rendezvous and has fished the BBC tournament.

Nery came to HMY Yacht Sales with a strong background in real estate, marketing, sales, and executive support for some of the largest real estate developers to have shaped South Florida. Prior to embarking in a new career with HMY, she worked for a prominent land use attorney, community advocate and an ex-mayor of Miami Beach. Her knowledge and experience dealing with contracts, closings, etc, as well as her sunny disposition and people skills make her a perfect candidate and addition to HMY’s team.
During her time off she enjoys spending time with her biggest pride and joy, her daughter. Together with friends; they love to play outdoors, relaxing by the beach, cycling, kayaking, and of course boating.

I have been in the marine industry for the past 36 years. Most of my early years were spent racing small sailboats, working in the boat dealership, selling sailboat hardware and doing rigging work. Those younger years were so intriguing, that I got to thinking about making a career of it. Initially starting in the sailboat industry, from small boats I gradually moved larger and larger.
I moved to Florida, in 1988, where the business was year-round and the waters were a gorgeous turquoise. I became the Vice President and General Manager of Eastern Yacht Sales, which was to develop into the largest sailboat dealer in the U.S. The Eastern Yacht Sales offices were in West Palm Beach & Miami and sold Catalina, Morgan, Freedom, J Boats, Island Packet, Sabre Yachts, Tartan and many other smaller sailboat lines.
As time went on, Eastern took on powerboats like the Sabreline 36 fast trawler and Cape Dory down-east cruisers. After 6 years in Florida, I knew that Ft. Lauderdale (often referred to as the yachting capital of the world) was the next stepping-stone in my career path. I searched for a company that had the need for someone with my extensive new boat sales background and very strong work ethic.
I chose Hal Jones & Co. because I saw an opportunity and a need for somebody with my knowledge, energy and enthusiasm for selling all series of new and used Grand Banks Yachts. I came to work at Hal Jones & Co. in 1995 and became Vice President of Sales. I continually helped Hal Jones & Co. exceed their expectations in sales for both new and used Grand Banks Yachts: Heritage Series, Eastbay Series and Aleutian Series, achieving numerous sales achievement awards from Grand Banks (from 2001 to 2006). I received the Top Worldwide Grand Banks Salesperson award for selling the most new and used Grand Banks Yachts in their entire Worldwide Dealer Network for 2003, 2005 and 2006.
With my clients’ specific needs in mind, I have semi-custom built over 30 new Grand Banks Yachts, including 5 of the Grand Banks Aleutian Series since its inception five years ago. Also, I have sold more than 100 pre-owned Grand Banks Yachts during my tenure at Hal Jones & Co. In addition, I have visited both of the Grand Banks factories, located in Singapore and Malaysia, many times since 1995 including five trips since the beginning of 2005.
When the opportunity came in the Fall of 2007, we started Classic Yachts International and continued as the authorized Grand Banks Dealer for Florida’s East Coast. After a few years as dealers – HMY Yacht Sales was awarded the dealership and the transition over to was an easy one. I’m very excited about the opportunities this new company has opened up.
As a result of my experiences, I have developed very close working relationships with all of the key people at Grand Banks Yachts and have a clear understanding of every detail, from development & construction to commissioning & delivery of every Grand Banks yacht product that I represent.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, Gigi started boating and fishing at an early age. She got her Scuba certification at age 16 and crewed on a dive boat on weekends for the next three years. John’s experience in the boating industry spans over 30 years. He began as Service Manager for Beach Marine in Jacksonville in the late 1970s, later working his way into a sales position in Northeast Florida. John spent 11 years on the Gulf Coast where he became a co-founder of The Marine Group, as one of its original four brokers. He then relocated to their Palm Beach office where he stayed until joining up with HMY in early 2007. His knowledge and experience in motor yacht and sport yacht sales accompany his already established presence in the sport fishing community. One of John’s many accomplishments is pioneering and promoting offshore big game fishing in Northeast Florida in the early 70’s. I was born and raised in the Midwest and soon after I married we packed up and moved to Florida. I have been here ever since and have 2 children that were born and raised here. I consider myself a Florida Transplant after being here for more than 35 years.
Most of my career has been spent working in retail sales for a department store and as a sales manager for a leading wireless company. I have also had experience in real estate selling new homes for a Florida builder. In 2006 I had the good fortune to be offered a position with HMY where I have been since. I am now more in the sales support roll which I am enjoying very much for a change. My sales and real estate background have helped develop the skills needed for my position here at HMY. Having a great view from my office window of the intracoastal and beautiful yachts isn’t so bad either.
Other than enjoying my off time with my horses, my true passion is being with my grand daughters (I am blessed with 4 so far!).

Mike Brown joined the HMY Team in January of 2000, bringing over 25 years of combined experience in the marine and brokerage business with him. He has consistently been one of HMY’s top producers, specializing in the acquisition and marketing of top quality production and custom yachts.
A former USCG licensed sport fishing captain, Mike traveled and fished the tournament circuit for several years before launching his career in the yacht brokerage business in 1985. He has been a licensed captain for 18 years and holds a 100 Ton Masters Captain’s License. He is a licensed Property & Casualty and Health Insurance agent with a focus on insuring the marine industry
Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business, completed the Viking Masters program and delivered boats from Nantucket to Mexico including the Bahamas.

Originally from Illinois, Jay served nearly ten years in the U.S. Army where he served from Washington to Egypt, completed an Associate’s Degree, the Warrant Officers Course, Helicopter Flight Training and several Military Leadership Courses. He spent the last three years of active duty flying Air Ambulance helicopters in Alaska.
Returning to Illinois in 1995, Jay entered the boat business representing Viking Yachts, Navigator and Carver Yachts. Jay was consistently on Carvers top 10 Salesman list, and ultimately attained the #1 position in 2000.
In 2003 he accepted a management role with Staten Island Yacht Sales and in 2006 moved to Florida as the Vice President and General Manager of Trio Marine Group and transitioned to HMY.

Pat’s 30 years in the marine industry began as a dock hand and gradually grew to ten with Captain before joining HMY 10 years ago.
During those years he oversaw production of custom boats, worked with Viking for several years as captain and mate, and included Viking warranty work and customer service.
He was captain of several boats and has fished around the world from New England to Florida, Mexico, St. Thomas and Venezuela. He was top charter boat captain in Ocean City, Maryland for several years and winner of many sport fishing tournaments.

Jamie moved to Florida in 1996 to attend the University of Central Florida. In 2001 after graduating from UCF, she returned to her home town of Boston, Massachusetts where she worked both in hotel sales and human resources. In 2003 a position as a marketing coordinator at PGA National Resort & Spa prompted Jamie to once again return to the South. After several years in the hospitality business, Jamie decided that the yachting world presented an opportunity to expand her experience into an undeniably “South Florida” industry. Jamie joined HMY in the fall of 2005 as the receptionist, after a few years of learning the industry, she was recently promoted to a sales assistant position.

I moved to S. Florida from the Chicago suburbs in 1979. I graduated from Palm Beach Community College with a Marketing/Management degree. I primarily worked in retail management for fourteen years and spent another 4+ years in politics until which time I came to the yachting business by way of a friend. I was self-employed in my own yacht maintenance business, as well as, part time crew on a 122 ft. vessel for the last four and a half years. I was eager to try something new when I came to HMY.

Growing up in Nebraska, Kristi attended Kansas State University and graduated with Cum Laude honors in 2006. She earned a major in marketing, minor in Spanish and Certificate of International Business. Kristi spent a total of four years working in the commodities industry where she served in an administrative and compliance role after herself becoming a Licensed Commodities Broker. Kristi moved to South Florida in the fall of 2008 to take on a Human Resources position for a local investment company before accepting a receptionist position with HMY, where she’s excited to learn the yachting industry.

Steve has the distinction of being one of only 550 Certified Professional Yacht Brokers in the United States. His 3 years at HMY are a small part of his 31 years as a full time professional yacht broker and he was recognized with the HMY Silver Sales Award in 2009.
He has been a member of the Florida Yacht Brokers Association since 1990, received his Viking Yacht Masters Certification in 2007, and graduated from Tiara University in 2009.
He has extensive plant tours and training experience having visited Viking Sport Cruiser, San Lorenzo, Viking Yachts, Tiara Yachts, Mainship Yachts, San Juan Yachts, Ocean Yachts, Jersey Cape Yachts, Silverton Yachts, Hinckley Yachts, Pearson Yachts and Hatteras Yachts.
He is a founding member of the Mackenzie Boat Club was a commercial sword fisherman from 1972-1976, and was honored with the Govenor of Massachusetts’ Business Award while at Plymouth Fisheries in 1977. Paul has 30 years in the marine industry, 16 as a yacht broker, and is entering his 6th year at HMY.
He holds a USCG 500 ton Master license is a Board Member Florida Yacht Brokers Association and has served as Captain from Portland, Maine to St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, Mexico and Costa Rica.
He has owned his own brokerage dealership for 8 years, is a past board member of the Northeast Marine Industry Association and an active member of Rotary International and the Florida Yacht Club.

Julee has been selling new Grand Banks, Sabre, Pursuits and brokerage boats of all kinds from Vero Beach/Ft. Pierce since 1996 and has established a loyal following. Julee received several sales awards from Grand Banks including top US Sales Person and 3rd World Wide for 2002. Julee has specialized in Grand Banks sales and has helped many clients build new Eastbays, Heritage and Aleutians. She also has sold many Grand Banks and Sabre brokerage boats and specializes in their sales. Julee joined HMY when they were awarded the Grand Banks dealership and looks forward to further helping her client base with their boat purchases and sales from the HMY Stuart facility.
Julee is an Oregon native and worked in a sister industry, high-end coach sales for 10 years in Oregon and later Florida as a manufacturer’s rep. Prior to that she owned and operated a bed and breakfast near Crater Lake Oregon. She has lived in Florida since 1988.
Julee and her husband are boaters and her knowledge, experience and professionalism has helped her be a top sales person. Julee’s style of no pressure, attention to detail and simply providing accurate information in a soft spoken manner is greatly liked by her clients. Julee and her husband lived aboard their 3rd powerboat, a 2000 Sabre 47 “Simplicity”. The knowledge she gained has been invaluable to her clients aspiring to do the same. Bob has been in the brokerage business since 1982. He owned and operated Sportside Marine in New Jersey and Florida for 14 years before moving to Florida. While operating in Jersey, Bob was licensed in Florida with Gilman Yacht Sales. When Bob moved to Florida, he joined Gilman Yachts on a full time basis, and remained at Gilman’s North Palm Beach location until moving to HMY in 2009.
Although quality production and custom sportfish boats have been his mainstay, Bob has sold quite a few motor yachts including a 131’ Feadship. He was also involved in the design and construction of a 97’ Horizon EPMY.
Bob’s believe is that “buyers, sellers and brokers should all feel good and be satisfied at the closing table of a deal”. Though Bob constantly prospects for new clients, better than 80% of his business comes from referrals and repeat clients.

Became a Yacht Broker in 1974 at Beach Marine in Jacksonville Beach
Starter at HMY in 1990 in Dania Beach and was in charge of the Cabo line for HMY for six years. Due to an illness in the family, Larry relocated back to Jacksonville and rejoined HMY in 2005. During his thirty five year career, Larry was Bertram Yachts Top Salesman Worldwide for new boats in 1988 – 1990, and has traveled to Germany and Mexico as a result of sales awards. He has attended sales and training seminars for Hatteras, Bertram, Viking, Cabo and Riviera Yachts.
While in College, Larry mated on several of the local charter boats during the summers, which lead to his love of offshore fishing. He was a charter member and officer of the Northeast Florida Marlin Association and has placed in and won several BlueWater tournaments. He has fished the Eastern seaboard from North Carolina to Virtually all of the Bahamas, in addition to Venezuela and Panama.

George grew up cruising and fishing the Florida waterways from a very young age. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, his family moved to Jacksonville, FL shortly after. At age 8, his father gave him his first boat, a 10’ skiff with a 10 horsepower outboard motor, and George learned very quickly that boating and the water would be a significant part of his life.
Over the years, George has been involved in many aspects of boating from working part-time at a boat manufacturer as a teenager to family cruising, sport fishing, yacht restoration, and offshore power boat racing. I have been a member of various yacht clubs and boating organizations and attended a 2 year program at North Florida Marine Institute, earning certificates in various aspects of marine mechanics, also acquiring his Captain’s License.
After a successful 16 year career in sales and sales management positions, he decided to turn his years of passion and experience for boating into a career. “It is only natural for me to be involved with the sales and brokerage side of the business.” I spent several years in the marine industry working in the South Florida market before joining HMY two years ago.

Lori joined HMY in July of 2007, after returning to Jacksonville. With a strong background in finance and mortgage servicing, Lori was able to easily transition into the marine finance industry while working in Virginia Beach. Once back in Jacksonville, this experience lead to her position with HMY. As a broker’s assistant, Lori handles the everyday workings of the office to include listings, closings and general marina duties

Robert grew up fishing and sailing on Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay. He graduated from The College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina where he was named an NCAA Collegiate All-American Sailor. He has sixteen years in the marine industry having worked with American Sail, Inc., Hall Marine Group / Sea Ray / Azimut, and for the last seven years with HMY Yacht Sales in Charleston.
His brokerage experience is extensive and he has recently been involved with building several new Viking Yachts with clients and spending a week at the Riviera Yachts facility in Coomera Australia.
Robert lives in Charleston with his wife Allison and their two daughters Catherine and Caroline.

Courtney is a South Carolina native, having grown up in a small southern town. In the year 2000 she moved to Charleston to finish college, and made it her home. She graduated from Charleston Southern University with a B.A. in Communications and an emphasis in Marketing. Over the past two years, Courtney worked as an Office Assistant for the Charleston City Marina, home to HMY’s Charleston branch. Her transition into the HMY of the Carolina’s Office Assistant position gave her an opportunity to use her skills more effectively but remain in a location that is familiar. She is extremely enthusiastic about her position with HMY.
