Under clear blue skies with the music drifting across the Manatee Pocket, the HMY family, past and present, gathered at Pirate’s Cove Resort and Marina to celebrate the 30th anniversary of HMY and to toast its prosperous future.
Surrounded by family, friends and employees, owner Steve Moynihan recognized the contributions of many and fondly remembered his longtime partner “Doc” Austin introducing his widow, Donna, also in attendance. Making note of the team effort and the many sacrifices and contributions of employees, family as well as supporting group of professional relationships with trusted lawyers, insurance agents and bankers, he joked, “we’re only human, and occasionally need their services.”
Visibly moved, particularly when presented with a beautiful plaque on behalf of all HMY employees and brokers, he thanked his wife, Faith and their children, recognizing that they too had contributed to the success and growth of the premier yacht sales and brokerage house in the industry and spoke of the future and continued success of the firm.
Brian Nopper, Dania broker, spoke on behalf of all as he earnestly thanked Steve for “the opportunity to work and earn a good living at HMY and for your leadership by example and hard work that have earned you the respect of the industry.
Speeches completed, the group continued to enjoy the delicious spread, including an anniversary cake while enjoying the music and spirits and the amazing magic of the featured entertainer while participating in animated competition at the bean bag station long into the evening, gradually drifting to the Pirate’s Loft for more camaraderie and animated dancing!
