The popular Viking Yachts 52 Convertible is now sharing the sportfish spotlight with two additional siblings that live up to the Viking tradition. The Viking Yachts 52 Sport Tower and Viking Yachts 52 Open are battlewagons designed and ready for your next open-water adventure. Both models make ideal fishing and cruising yachts, each an outstanding choice for the owner who enjoys time at the helm as much as getting in on the action in the cockpit. Viking recently premiered the new 48 Sport Tower and 48 Open at this year's Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and the response from Viking owners was phenomenal.
For the Open-Style Sportfish enthusiasts, the 52O offers the helm very close to the cockpit so being an owner/operator with no crew is no problem. It also keeps the captain in close contact with the anglers in the cockpit so they are literally right in the action while maneuvering.
Both the 52 Sport Tower and Open feature a wraparound windshield and centerline helm that provides the skipper with optimal sight lines and defense against all weather conditions. Engine instrumentation and electronic screens are a glance away and the DC power-assisted steering and single lever electronic controls deliver smooth handling and rapid response.
A U-shaped settee and dinette located opposite a molded console with refrigeration and stowage offers those on board many of the admired amenities found on the Viking Yachts enclosed bridge convertibles, creating an open, salon-like atmosphere. Certainly, this space provides an excellent spot to kick back and take in the views.
Both the Viking 52 ST and Open have been thoughtfully designed to include everything you could need for an extended cruise. Indoors, the comfortable salon features a spacious arrangement with your choice of either detailed teak or walnut joinery along with a 40-inch flat screen television, a booth lounge and dinette, a well-equipped galley, and a convenient laundry center. An alternate two-stateroom configuration provides an available hi-lo table and an L-shape settee.
In true Viking fashion, the master stateroom is a luxurious retreat for the owner. Located forward, this space features a queen size bed, an entertainment system, plenty of stowage to accommodate long range cruises, and a privately accessed head. Starboard guest staterooms are separated by a second head and shower.
The well-sized 142 square-foot cockpit is expertly designed for serious fishing action and cruising in comfort with dual mezzanine seating, a transom fish well, in deck fish and stowage boxes, and a transom door complete with a lift gate.
The Viking 52s are powered by MAN V12 1400 CRM diesels which can deliver cruise speeds in the mid 30 knot range and a top end of 40 knots depending on load, sea and other environmental factors. A 21.5 KW Cummins Onan generator comes standard, and there is room to install a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer if desired.
