Most coastal cities and towns throughout the sunshine state are totally boater-centric and Palm Beach is no exception. Whether you want to cruise over to a dockside tiki bar with live music, anchor up at a lively sandbar or spend the day exploring an island, Palm Beach County, Florida has a variety of awesome locations for you to travel to by yacht or by boat. We highly recommend you check out all nine of these boating friendly hot spots as soon as you get the chance. 

1. Peanut Island

This 80 acre, man-made island in the middle of Port of Palm Beach is an excellent destination exclusive to boaters with lots to do. Peanut Island provides the perfect setting for a picnic, swimming, snorkeling and even camping off the crystal blue waters of beautiful Palm Beach. Cruise over to the island and moor your boat or beach it and enjoy an afternoon in the water under the Florida sun. Nice facilities can be found on the island so you can stay awhile a experienced all it has to offer. Not only does this island allow for a day of beachfront relaxation, it also gives you the chance to discover a bit of American history. During the Cuban Missel Crisis, President John F. Kennedy had a bomb shelter secretly built here, which you can now tour. A US Coast Guard station built in 1936 now serves as the Palm Beach Maritime Museum, another interesting attraction located on Peanut Island. 

2. Guanabanas

If you’re in search of an eclectic eatery in Northern Palm Beach known for providing tropical ambiance and also easily accessible by boat, Guanabanas of Jupiter has got your bases covered. This extremely popular, open-air restaurant features thatched tiki huts and towering banyan trees that will have you feeling like you’re on island time. 3. Harbourside Place

The Harbourside Place Marina offers convenient, public access to everything that Harbourside Place has to offer. Idle in to one of the 31 boat slips available from 8am to 12am. The Harbourside docks can accommodate yachts up to 130 feet with single phase 100amp. Tie up and spend the day shopping, wining and dining along Jupiter’s intracoastal waterway. A first-class spread of restaurants await you here such as Tommy Bahama, Tiger Wood’s The Woods, Calaveras Cantina and many more. The Amphitheater at Harbourside is always jamming with live music or housing a special event and there is even a fun fountain area for the kids to splash around in. 

4. The Jupiter Sandbar

The popular Loxahatchee River Sandbar in the Jupiter/Tequesta, FL area is a top destination for local boaters to congregate. It is conveniently located near the Jupiter Inlet and the Intracoastal Waterway. The large sandbar can accommodate hundreds of people. On any given weekend during low tide, you’ll find dozens of boaters enjoying warm shallow waters and sunshine. West of Burt Reynolds Park and boat ramp. The west end of the sandbar is more family oriented while the east end tends to be a vibrant, party central. While at the sandbar you'll enjoy views of gorgeous waterfront homes and the famed Jupiter Lighthouse. On the incoming tide at the east side of the Jupiter Sandbar you’ll find good snorkeling by the mangroves.

5. Clematis Street Via Palm Harbor Marina

If you've been out cruising the waters of Palm Beach for a while and find yourself ready to make landfall, head into Palm Harbor Marina where wet slips can accommodate yachts up to 250 feet. Once you disembark you're just footsteps away from famed Clematis Street, the historical heart of Downtown West Palm Beach. Starting at Flagler Drive on the Intracoastal Waterway, walk west along Clematis Street and experience and exciting mixture of sophisticated boutiques, vivacious nightclubs, live music, gourmet restaurants, and historical landmarks. On Thursday nights Clematis Street comes alive from 6-9pm transforming into Clematis By Night, a popular event where you'll find great live music and plenty of food and drink to enjoy. 

6. Square Grouper

The Square Grouper is the ultimate tiki bar, well-known for being a nightlife hot spot in Jupiter. One of the country's most popular watering holes, Square Grouper is the home of several music videos, including Alan Jackson’s hit “Five O’clock Somewhere” with Jimmy Buffett. Live music, an epic view of the Jupiter Lighthouse and a fantastic atmosphere await you here. This little piece of paradise features a 19 slip marina where you can easily dock your boat then dance and drink the day or night away with sand between your toes. If hunger strikes, you can also grab a bite to eat off their menu. Make note that you must be 21 or older to enter this establishment. 

7. DuBois Park

One of Palm Beach County's most popular parks, DuBois Park is a great place for families to cool off and hang out. A calm lagoon area with shallow, crystal clear water makes this an ideal location to bring small children. In the summer, lifeguards are on duty here 7 days a week and after the summer they are guarding on the weekends. You have the option of walking to Jupiter Beach on the Atlantic or staying in the sheltered area. 17 boat slips are available at DuBois Park on a first come first serve basis. Picnic tables and grills are on location so make a full day out of your trip here and have a cook out. The park is located right next to the Jupiter Lighthouse so you'll have a picturesque view while you watch the kids safely play. 

8. Frigate's Waterfront Bar and Grill

Named after the Frigate Bird that when spotted indicates the presence of fish to anglers, Frigate's Waterfront Bar and Grill is the perfect locale for docking up after a successful day of fun and fishing on the water. Expect to be surrounded by a gorgeous view and an inviting tropical atmosphere at Frigate's of North Palm Beach. This dockside restaurant has it all from delectable food, signature drinks, live music and plenty of space for your vessel. Your day of boating will be nicely complimented with a visit to this waterfront gem. 

9. Tiki 52 at Blowing Rocks Marina

This is one tiki bar that puts a big emphasis on fun with friends. Located in the Village of Tequesta, Tiki 52 at Blowing Rocks Marina offers you tons of dockage space at its sea wall for boats and yachts up to 70 feet so tie up and enjoy a day or night of live music and libations. During football season this watering hole is packed with Miami Dolphins fans enjoying burgers and beer so if you're a fan, this is an excellent place to catch the game after a little boating. You can find Tiki 52 at marker 52 on the Intracoastal Waterway approximately 1-1/2 miles north of the Jupiter Inlet.
