HMY clients catch a (possible) record breaking swordfish!

By HMY   September 8, 2014

HMY clients, the Sattar Family, had a Labor Day Weekend to remember. The Sattar Family, father Brian Sattar and his two sons Eric, 19 and Adam, 17 took their 46’ Viking SATTARDAZE out fishing and came back not only with a great story, but a possible record breaking swordfish. Adam Sattar was behind the electric reel when he caught a 693 pound swordfish at approximately 11 am on Monday. They were just north of the Palm Beach Inlet when they hooked the fish and spent the next 4 hours fighting the fish before they gaffed it around 4pm. After spending about an hour trying to get the fish onboard they decided it would be best to tow it since it was too big to fit on the deck. They towed it to Sailfish Marina where the fish was measured and weighed. The Sattar family has submitted papers to see if they have broken the Florida All Tackle State record. There are conflicting reports about how much the fish weighted, some reporting 693 and others saying 704- we will update the story as soon as we have the exact number. The 46’ Viking owned by the Sattar family was purchased at HMY Yachts from Broker Mike Brown in December of 2012. Brian Sattar shared this exciting story with Mike Brown. Mike Brown is based out of our Palm Beach Gardens office at Soverel Marina. He can be reached at [email protected] or by cell phone: 561-722-2298.
