HMY Yacht Sales is proud to be a Diamond level sponsor of the 2016 Custom Shootout Billfish Release Tournament taking place in Abaco, Bahamas May 11 - 14. The gorgeous islands of the Abacos rank as one of the best places in the worlde for big game fishing. Tournament participants will stay at The Abaco Resort & Boat Harbour Marina.
The Custom Shootout is an all-charity event that is limited to just 50 custom inboard boat teams - 32 feet or larger - chosen by invitation only to represent the U.S. custom boat manufacturers in an all-release format. It is the second leg of the Abaco Diamond Series. In the interest of fishing conservation and to keep this a true release tournament, each team is required to show video evidence of billfish catch for verification. The vessles that comprise the fleet participating in the Custom Shootout are the most elite of sport boats assembled.
Those who accept a coveted Custom Shootout invitation will compete to benefit organizations in need of immediate recuperative funds and on-going research. The Custom Shootout tournament is a 501(c)3 organization that relies on the generosity of its team members to aid in that dedication. Over the past 14 years, proceeds from the Custom Shootout have contributed over $800,000 to causes such as the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, the 9/11 Fallen Heros and the Huricane Katrina Red Cross Relief Fund.
